You've got questions, we've got answers. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about The Bark Knoxville's indoor dog park play spaces and beer garden.

Q: Where is The Bark?

A: The Bark is located near downtown Knoxville at 601 Lamar Street.

Q: Are there any breed restrictions for entry to The Bark?

A: There are no breed restrictions for entry. We welcome all dog breeds to come enjoy our park. You can read more about the restrictions for entry on our dog park rules page.

Q: Are there any age restrictions?

A: Puppies must be finished with all shots and boosters. Please consider your older dog's body condition and ability to play with others. Play at your own risk.

Q: Do dogs have to be spayed or neutered?

A: Dogs over 12 months old must be spayed or neutered. No dogs in heat are permitted and no excessive humping is allowed.

Q: Are staff monitoring dog play?

A: Staff will be watching the play spaces for inappropriate behavior, but this is no substitute for watching your dog. You are responsible for your dog's behavior at all times. At the end of the day no one knows your dog's behavior better than you.

Q: How does the behavior check work?

Q: What if my dog doesn't pass their behavior pre-check?

A: Depending on what behaviors caused your dog not to pass the behavior pre-check on their first try, our staff may refer you to come in for a retest another day or refer you to an applicable training program.

Q: What kind of alcohol is served at the dog park?

A: The Bark offers beer, cider, seltzers, and non alcoholic drinks.

Q: Do humans have to have a dog to visit?

A: Humans are always welcome and get in free! Bring dogless friends or come without at dog yourself. We have plenty that want belly scratches!

Q: When is the dog park open?

A: The Bark Knoxville will celebrate its grand opening in the spring of 2022. The dog park's hours will be 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm from Monday through Thursday, and on Fridays we will close at 11:00 pm. Saturday hours are 10:00 am to 11:00 pm, and Sunday hours are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Q: Why doesn't the dog park open until 4:00 on weekdays?

A: During normal work hours throughout the week, our play spaces will be occupied for doggie daycare. After those hours we will santitize and prepare the play spaces for regular visitors. More information on doggy daycare to come.

Q: What is the difference between doggie daycare and dog park?

A: Doggy Daycare is full service off leash playcare for your dog while you are working during normal business hours. Our Dog park is much like your typical dog park, it is an off leash play area open for you and your dog to enjoy together on nights and weekends with the added benefits of a beer garden and professional staff monitoring

Q: I uploaded my dogs vaccines but they are still showing as expired. What do I do?

A: Once your vaccines are uploaded to your pet portal, they will need to be reviewed by a staff member on our team. This happens when you come for your first visit to The Bark, when you check into our front desk for the first time.
